Brantôme-en-Périgord is one of the gems of the North Dordogne, it is a small, very touristic town, crossed by the Dronne river, or rather surrounded by the Dronne, which has earned it the nickname "Green Venice of Périgord"!
I advise you to discover its pretty streets, its small squares, its shops selling good local products on foot, by bike or even by canoe.
You will probably be accompanied during your visit by curious little ducks (or too accustomed to vacationers) who will come and chat with you for a while.
Friday morning is market day, I recommend it!
The Dronne et Belle Tourist Office will also be able to give you all the advice on guided tours, current events, and good tips for couples or families. Don't hesitate to go and meet them, they are in a magnificent renovated chapel, just opposite the Abbey.
